THE CROWN FLAG
An awesome flag - a powerful symbol

He hopes that the knot in the rope just above his head has been properly and tightly tied!
Hanging from the top of a 12 storey building, this young man sets about his poorly paid task of painting the walls.
Balancing at the 8th floor like a spider on a thread, no safety harness, no protection !!
A flimsy bit of wood between him and the concrete road hundreds of feet below!
He trusts in that rough old rope that holds his life

See the two men on ground level!

What faith is this?
and what is this rope tied to
that gives him such confidence?
Let's go to the roof to find out.........
Faith in a trailing rope not secured to anything !
Faith in a young lad holding the rope
stood in the 30 degree blazing sunshine of Asia.
Faith in the hands of someone he cannot see,
and who cannot see him!
Faith that the boy will not fall asleep or pass out with sunstroke.
Faith in his hands not slipping the rope as he lowers him down the building.
Faith that this shoeless foot tangled in a nylon bag is sufficient to hold his weight!
And I think,
Is it so hard to trust in God,
in God who I cannot see,
but who promises me security for ALL THIS LIFE,
AND FOR all eternity?
History tells how he came down from heaven and healed the sick, and even raised the dead from out their graves!
And when he died on a rough old cross at a place called Calvary out there in Israel, everyone thought it was over.
But he who raised the dead CAME BACK to life three days later, conquered the grave, and was seen by oh, so many people who testified of his resurrection.
The leaders of the day, IN FEAR AND DESPERATION, tried to hide it and cover it up,
even threatening the people who saw him alive after being buried, ...TO KEEP THEIR MOUTHS SHUT!
And if this young boy
can place his life
and future
in the deformed foot
of another young lad,
can you not put your
trust in God
whom you have not seen,
but who promises
eternal life instead of Hell,
to all
and anyone
who puts their FAITH in Him?
"For God SO loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, so that whoever believes (and trusts) on Him, shall not perish (in Hell) but have everlasting life!"
It was on that rough old cross that Jesus the Son of God gave his life to purchase our freedom, our forgiveness, our security.
You can trust in that cross, and you can trust in Christ.
All the prophets died, and are dead. Even Mary died and is dead. They all wait for the resurrection of the good and the evil.
ONLY Jesus rose from the dead, and is alive forever more!
And soon He will return and be seen by every atheist, Christian, Hindu, Muslim, adult and child in the world.
It will then be too late to get your life right with Him.
And He says,
"Come to me all of you who are weary, troubled, and burdened, and I will give you rest. I will never leave you nor abandon you when you give your life to me!"
A rough old rope
