A simple question
‘Do you believe in God?’ Most people will say “Yes, but I’m not religious.”
The question is simple. ‘Do you believe in God? Do you want to go to heaven?’
The following statement is equally simple, ‘Then believe in me, because in my Father’s house there are many mansions, amazing places and things which the heart of man has never ever seen or known, and I am going to go and prepare a place for you so that you can come and live with me forever.’
These words were spoken by Jesus Christ, and recorded in the Bible.
Just reading the first few verses of John chapter 14 quickly answers all of the questioning and claims of any belief in the world.
You have never seen heaven, neither observed the face of God, nor had a physical encounter with an alien, yet you believe in God who no man has ever seen, nor can see, and a place called heaven which you have never entered, let alone photographed as evidence. So is it so hard to believe in Christ who walked this earth, healed the sick, raised the dead, was crucified and buried, but rose from the dead a few days later and proved his power over death to thousands of living witnesses?
No prophet has ever risen from the dead and lives forever. They all died and remain buried. But Jesus stormed out of the grave and destroyed the power of death for all who will believe in Him.
Why is it so hard then to believe in Jesus? Well, you may say, ‘Oh, but I do believe in him. He was a great prophet and a good man.’
Jesus said that he was going away to prepare a place for those who know him.
Thomas, one of Christ’s disciples, said, ‘But Lord, we do not know where you are going, or how to get to this place where you are preparing us a mansion.’
Jesus answered and said, ‘I am the way, and I am the truth, and I am the Life: nobody can come to the Father except through and by me.’
Jesus declared that he is the way to heaven. He never suggested he was a way, but he said that he was the only way, because he went on to say that nobody can get to the Father above except through himself. He stated emphatically that he is the only way to God.
He also said that he was the truth, not a truth, or an alternative truth. He is the truth that will set you free and bring you to God into a wonderful relationship where fear is gone forever. He is the only way where you can find an access into God’s presence and discover the love of a Father who adores and cherishes your company.
And then he said that He is the life! What life? He is life itself, and is the light that gives life to every one in this world. He is abundant and life-changing life, and gives that life to all who will simply believe what he says and give their hearts to him. The life he gives will revolutionize your understanding and give you a supernatural knowledge of God. This life transforms you so that you can know God personally for yourself. This life is in Jesus, this life is Jesus, and this life can be yours today by asking him to save you and give you eternal life.
And this is because Jesus is God’s only Begotten Son, not just a prophet and good man. He came into this world to make a way for people like you and me to discover the One True God for ourselves. He died on a cross near to Jerusalem to pay the ultimate sacrifice for all that our sins deserved which kept us away from God, and at the cross he took our hand and God’s hand and made peace for us with God forever. He rose from the dead and lives forever and gives you the opportunity to find peace with God.
This peace can be yours today if you will accept the truth and believe in the name of the Son of God. He waits for you just to open the door of your heart to receive him.
‘To whoever receives him, he gives the outstanding privilege to become a child of God!’ (The Bible – John 1:12)
‘He that has the Son of God HAS LIFE , but he that does not have the Son of God does not have life.’ (1John )
You can become a child of God right now, wherever you are, and no matter how awful your life might be at this moment, or how bad it may have been in the past. He will forgive your sin, clean your life and give you a brand new start.
